Gold at WorldSkills
Congratulations to Jessie-Lee who has been to the National World-Skill competition in Sydney this year and won the national Beauty Therapy competition. Jessie was chosen because of her professionalism, attitude and application to her Beauty training and the industry. The World Skills competition brings together the ‘best of the best’ in their chosen career. The candidates have to demonstrate their competence in front to not only judges but also an audience, press and their peers. Dermalogica beauty and spa products sponsor the National event and candidates have to provide a full Beauty and Spa treatment with selected products from the Dermalogica range.
Cairns Beauty Academy and treatments can be booked for either Hannah orTegan both who are fully qualified therapists and deliver fabulous treatments using the ‘Academies’ product range of Dermalogica which incorporates minerals to compliment your skin, especially in this weather. Leanne and Hannah were also involved in training and preparing Jessie for the Beauty Competitions. Jessie who trained and worked at the Academy has taken time off so she could pursue extra training with Sue, the principal, in preparation of her competition in Canada which paid off tremendously as she won the gold for her efforts, out of 18 international competitors from all around the world, Jessie shone to prove Cairns Beauty Academy is still performing to a standard that can win a gold medal internationally, We are very proud of Jessie who will now embark on furthering her career in Sydney where she has been offered a wonderful position as an assistant teacher.
Jessie is a superb beauty specialist and we wish her all the best and will miss her at the Academy.
We have just arrived home from London where we had Alex Odges competing in the lastest international Beauty Competition, Alex did really well coming in 6th against 22 countries around the world, Singapore came in 1st and she was surpurb, Finland in 2nd and she was equally excellent and then Canada was 3rd. Alex score was 83.3 out of 100 so she is really pleased with her result and she bought home a medal of excellence, which is a great achievment. Sue is also please having trained Alex for 6 months before the competition Alex is from a small country town out side of Newcastle, but will now take a position in beauty on Herron Island. Good Luck Alex.
