Operating for more than 22 years, the Cairns Beauty Academy salon and school still attracts large numbers of clients for training and pampering. Cairns Beauty Academy was established in 1986 by owner Sue Collins who saw a need for a well equipped training academy where students could also work in a busy beauty salon.
Originally located at 120 Spence Street, the Cairns Beauty Academy recently moved to new premises at 97 Spence Street to cater to their ever-expanding clientele.
Sue attributes the success of the school and salon to the “great staff.”
“They have played a huge role in our continued popularity attracting large numbers of students and clients,” Sue says.
“Since we opened in 1986 we have been a popular haven for pampering in a busy world. Clients can refresh and revitalize with our long list of services.”
These include hair styling, hair colorings, manicures, facials, pedicures, spa treatments, and massage and beauty packages.
The salon also has the latest machine in Intense Pulse Lighting for permanent hair removal treatment, anti-aging and pigmentation packages.
Sue adds that a wonderful present for loved ones are the Beauty Package Gift Vouchers which can be purchased for a treatment from a student or a qualified therapist in the salon.
Most of the already well priced treatments offered by the salon are also offered at a heavily discounted price through the school.
“The clients can come to our school for any of our treatments which give our students valuable experience with clients and prepare them for employment when they graduate.”
All the therapists and hair stylists are fully qualified.
“Some have been with us for more than 15 years,” Sue says.
The Cairns Beauty Academy is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm and 9am to 2pm on Saturday.
